Located in east central Minnesota, Blue Flannel Collies is a small breeder of AKC smooth and rough coated collies. The journey began in childhood when our little hobby farm welcomed a beautiful little sable collie puppy to the family. Lady, as was her name, was a wonderful addition to the various chickens, goats and other livestock of the farm. She took the job of rodent control and child protector and never failed in her duties. This early experience won Collies a very special place in the hearts of the entire family but as time passes on so do the best of dogs. The children she guarded and herded so faithfully grew up and began to have children of their own. But what family is complete without a Collie? And so the search began – somewhere out there was the perfect Collie. After months of researching and dreaming to no avail, I finally found a Collie breeder only an hour or so away from me. Her webpage was a wealth of information and inviting, so I reached out, hoping against hope that she might have a pup or two. There were bigger plans than mine in the process! I received the chance of a lifetime when, after some communication, that breeder offered me some of her adult breeding stock and her priceless mentorship.  In late 2023, I welcomed four of the finest Collie dogs to the homestead! Now, I get to carry on the legacy of timeless Collies with each little puppy I welcome into the world. Each litter is bred with a focus on good health, temperament, and AKC conformation standard. It is my goal that each puppy be well prepared for their forever homes through careful diet, exposure, and love!
